Many times your life goes down the wrong path because you are not following the rules. The main rule is love your neighbor as yourself. God loves us and wants us to love each other. Also we need to have a relationship with Him. So ask Him if He exists.

It seems from the past comments that they are pretty well trying to blast you a little. That is a problem in society today and why atheism is becoming more abundant; instead of teching love, people are trying to teach fear. (this is wrong) I am a Christian myself who is currently dating a new found athiest due to all the ridiculous and repugnant accusations made by ‘men’ whenever the Bible clearly states that it is not our job to condemn, but to share and love.(this is the strongest case in which to turn off people to Christ.(thanks to all those who do this, it has made my life so much easier trying to fix your mistakes)) Also, I believe that you make very good comments about if Jesus wasn’t real his legacy has had a tremendous influence upon the lives of those who ‘believe’ in him as well as those who just enjoy his philosophy. Anyways, thanks for the good read and for a comment that is not masqueraded as truth, but as an opinion.

I dont know how i found this page, but im pretty glad i did. I dont understand how you can talk about Jesus, say that he was on the right track and stop right there. There is strong evidence, in the gospels and other documents that account that Jesus, is who he says he is. Even people from other so called religions, have witnessed the miracles that Jesus performed here on earth. There is too much evidence too ignore. Also, i dont know if u know whats going on in the world today, but as days go on, i realize more and more that we are living in the last days. I just pray that when the rapture happens, you are saved, if not, i hope you make your decisions, about Jesus and who he really was, quickly. DONT GET DECIEVED

Jesus was a real person So was Mary his mother. Just check out the history books his time. His death had to be kept on record just like all of the thieves, murderers and thugs that were condemned to die by crucifixion. This was a normal means of punishment at that time.
Pilate and Harod were leaders who judged Jesus and didn’t want to condemn him to death but because the crowd was saying “Crucify him” they allowed Jesus to be dragged off to be crucified

I’m sorry, but you’re wrong.

I’ve heard both Matt and Trey say that they did the censoring themselves to ensure that it would get aired. The message they put on the black screen was even negative towards CC. They (rightfully) didn’t want someone else to edit their work, but I feel that by editing it themselves, they completely screwed the pooch.

they thought CC would air the episode as is, and that blacked out screen was only added last minute much to their dismay
the blacked out screen wasn’t created as part of the original episode

Yeah, it was an oversight. For a brief period of time I considered using Ben Franklin as the source of my maxim, and forgot to excise the ‘Tis when I settled on Sam and Mark.

I don’t know, Jer. I get where you were coming from here, BUT now that I’m a parent, no way would I give that cop a hard time. Because now I have to deal with the idiots who want to teach our children abstinence from sex as the ONLY method of birth control and protection from STDs. And yes, while abstinence may be the only fool-proof method of protection, how realistic is it? I fully support sex-ed classes teaching about condoms, etc. And the same argument could be made about illegality, because of the age of consent (which varies from state to state).

So I guess I don’t have a problem with the “You should really NOT do this, BUT if you do, here’s a way to keep yourself a little safer.” I’d be pretty darn grateful to that cop that drove my kid home to keep said kid from driving drunk—the whole “no questions asked” bit just serves to increase the liklihood of someone taking him up on the service. Now, if that kid drives home and wipes out a pedestrian on the way home…there ain’t gonna be any “discretion” on the part of the responding officer as to what happens.

This is me playing devil’s advocate.

Brilliant. BUT—if you’re gonna credit Clemens/Twain, you need to “commonize” your language, I think. I don’t see him using ” ‘Tis ” much.

Winston Churchill is another good one to attribute wise sayings to, and if they’re more homey, just use Will Rogers.

hi, the funny thing is thay if you really, deep down in your felt there was no christ you wouldn’t write down a summary of how you got into chfist and out of christ. im a 17 year old whos been through hell and there are times when i ask God why, if you really do exist then why is this happening but if you didn’t know there is something like the devil. God loves you, he wats you, he nneds you,i know i wont be sayin this if it wasn’t for God whos speaking through me and its the truth. Yous see Jesus can help you but as a chrisitian there would be storms like what your parents faced divorce but its not God that is doing this, its the devil. God does not interfere until he sees that you have called on his name with total love. No matter what i just want you to know that jesus loves you no matter how much you may despice him.

Funny you should write about Jesus, I just read A.N. Wilson’s biography on Jesus. He assumes Jesus existed, then goes from there. Even though the gospels are not primary sources to the life of Jesus there are many interesting clues you can find in them. (I think most of the non-biblical references to Jesus have been debunked or shown to be trivial so we can’t be 100% sure he existed but I would bet he did.) I was going to start in on the new book by someone else called Misquoting Jesus but my interest has waned. Biblical scholarship is fascinating but I need a break. Back to Greg Egan for me!
